If not for them, these "United States" would not be....military funerals are very sombering & reflective experiences. Our former neighbor's brother just died - I knew he and 3 of his brothers were in WWII at the same time, but I didn't know that this ptl one had received 4 Bronze stars for valor. And everybody pulls over here and stops for funerals too...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2495665171407148682.post-65782969948847973272011-10-19T11:46:12.587-05:002011-10-19T11:46:12.587-05:00What a wonderful post. I am fortunate to live in the same town (well almost) that I grew up. Before I moved back to town I used to occasionally drive past the home that I spend the first 14 yrs of my life in. It hasn't changed except the trees are much larger! My grandmother and grandfather's house is across a field from it and it looks the same. Someone has kept it looking really good. That makes me happy.

I am happy to hear that everyone pulled over during on the way to the cemetery. Nothing disappoints me more than to see so many people NOT pull over out of respect around these parts. It is something that I will always do. I have taught my kids to do the same thing. Dadgum it, more parents need to do the same in my opinion.

While I am so very sorry for your loss I am glad that you were able to remember fond memories of your childhood. Yes, it is sad to see houses in bad condition that we grew up with.Trailbosshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10560979016510119034noreply@blogger.com
