I was feeling inspired by the snowstorm we had yesterday so I thought I'd
go for a drive and take a few pictures. All images were taken in Seabrook,

oooh.. Bomb pops! with the bubblegum ball in the tip!
I haven't seen this much excitement in ages. My fave is/was, a drumstick!
Okay, we never had the ice cream truck when I was growing up, ever. If I ever had the chance to get something at a friends house I would choose a banana or rootbeer popsicle! Loved banana!
Oh Eddie Murphy ... "the ice cream man is commminnnnn!!!!" lol!
If you ask me the ICTruck comes a bit too often in our 'hood! Figures, now that I'm an adult : /
So did you like strut up and down like Eddy and pout! "Ive got Ice cream! Ive got Ice cream! You don't got icecream!" And then like drop it all over you pants???? Huh!!!! Just askin' coz we have recently watched those old 80's Eddy shows and cacked ourselves silly! But the language! (Blushes) He certainly was a bit forward for those days! Hmmmmm! (Oh and was your mum waiting to bash you for your troubles too! hehe!) Poor Eddy sounds like he had a hard life!
The icecream man is ALWAYS busy in my neighbourhood in TO...and I love the chocolate/vanilla twist cones, dipped AND with peanuts.
OMG.
"i got some iiice cream. i got some iiiice cream. and you can't haaaaave none. 'cause you on welfare. and yo dad's an alcoholic."
man, but I love that!
"you want some? psyche!"
i feel so deprived...we never had an ice cream man...just grandpa when he went out to the garage where the BIG freezer was to get us kids some drumsticks.
Eddy Murphy makes me laugh until I cry. And then I shed a few tears of guilt because he is soooooo raunchy.
I love ice cream sandwiches and push-ups.
I'm glad I didn't have a 'shoe-throwin' momma!!'
Last summer when I blogged about the ice cream man (complete with pictures I might add)you commented that you all were ice cream man deprived. I am SO HAPPY for you! I wish I could take credit for that but I did send some positive ice cream vibes and joujou your way so who knows!
My favorite is a Choco-Taco by the way.
OK...I'm going to say the drumstick with the chunk of chocolate in the tip of the cone!
But then a good ol' fashioned push up is good too.
And then there is anything mint-chip flavored.
Oh good Lord. Now I want ice-cream.
Popsicles, any flavor (especially banana) and creamsicles.
Yep, you know it's spring when the ice cream man shows up.
What I remember most about the ice cream truck was hearing the music as it approached from a distance and the instant frenzy to scrounge up enough nickels and dimes before it was too late. Usually this entailed getting Mom to fish around in her purse for spare change. But I ignored the ice cream and bought baseball cards from the guy, instead. They cost a nickel a pack back then and came with a stick of cavity-promoting bubblegum. Ah, the good ol' days.
We never had an ice cream truck come to the neighborhood when I was a kid. At that time we lived in what was the country (it isn't anymore, too close to Lone Oak). But when we were at our cabin at Ky lake, we would take the boat to The Moors and I used to love to get pushups. I can remember walking around on the unstable outskirts of the dock loving my ice cream!
That IS exciting news, nothing like that around here, but there is a Culver's on almost every corner in every town in Wisconsin.
One of my first jobs was peddling a huge unwieldy ice cream cart.
HAPPY EASTER!
Oh, I can feel your excitement! Since we moved out to the country (closest store is 10 miles), we NEVER see the Ice Cream Man. I DO remember him as a child when I lived in Baltimore though. My favorite has to be the Chocolate Eclair.
My kids have experienced the Ice Cream Man on the beaches of Daytona. Those ice creams are no bargain...$4 a pop!!!
