Word of the Day

Pronunciation: short-bred
Function: noun
Date: 1801
Definition: a thick cookie made of flour, sugar, and a large amount of shortening.

Used in in sentence: "I might as well rub that shortbread on my a$$ 'cause that's where it's goin'."

*It is my new addiction since Teen Angel started bringing it home from the bakery every time she works. The Mother's Day shortbread cookie shaped like a crown with "mom" written on it was especially good. I'd show you a picture, but I ate it so fast I forgot to take a photo until it was all gone.

There is a little cafe' in our building called "au bou pain" and they make the most AMAZING short bread cookies half dipped in chocolate.

I got them all the time.

Until I saw how many calories they were (400). I stopped going. But I look in the window now and again and just stare.

You are bad, very bad.

Jason, as himself said...

Oh, I love the sentence.

I actually don't care much for shortbread. It tastes almost like nothing.

Delicious, for sure! And so easy to make at home, as long as you always have about a pound of butter hanging around. Sigh. Unfortunately, your example sentence is all too true for me.

Sing along if you want:
"Mamie's little baby like short'n,short'n
Mamie's little baby likes short'n bread"

P.S. I, too, know about gum wrapper chains. How cool is that! I thought I was the last person who knew that lost art. Post to follow soon at the Cafe.
