But then I got to playing with them and realized that something cool happened when I took away the color and tinkered around with the black and white hues and light within the shots. Suddenly the photos became about texture, and honestly I like these best. They just pop, and the lines are incredibly appealing to me.




Don't get me wrong. I would be disappointed to look out in my yard and see shades of gray. But in print, these make my heart sing. And as Martha would say, that's a very good thing.

You are so right, while I love the color ones, the black n while show more details. My roses are not in bloom yet, they need a little more time. Your doing great with your photos.

I love the brilliantly colored ones and the sepia tones. The sepia ones remind me of a Victorian story of mystery and romance.
These photos are a great way to start trying to get back to normal. They are lovely.
I miss peonies; they do not grow here since it is too hot. But my grandmother in Utah had a whole yard full of them for each and every Memorial Day.
