Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English, probably from blusshen
Date: 14th century

Definition: a reddening of the face especially from shame, modesty, or confusion

Example: Sitting in the hairdresser's chair waiting for the San Tropez color to set and watching clips of Michael Phelps on TV, suddenly realizing I'm singing out loud, "Coo coo ka choo, Mrs. Robinson".

Ha ha! Or me laying in the sun for far too many hours yesterday soaking it up and then everyone saying "Hey you are sun burnt!" Glory be, its still winter and I tasted the sun! Yay!

Well, honey, you were just confused (not ashamed or being modest). What with the all those nasty chemicals floating around, you just thought for a moment you were at home, in your living room, now didn't you?!?! {{smile}} If your hairdresser is old enough to understand the meaning of all that, I'm sure that she (or he) completely understood!!!
