Dementia Lite

Papa T. is just so darn cute every now and then. Like when we finish singing a hymn in church and he keeps singing...and doesn't realize he's the only one still singing. Or when he stands up EVERY Sunday after the service and says, "Well, that's that". Or when he buys a new winter hat, models it for us and continues to wear it in the house for another hour....with his TV headphones. Or smiles really big when he's taken his partial plate out of his mouth. Me thinks moments like these are God's little way of easing us along the path he's on.

Laugh when you can!! Cause it really isn't funny so you just have to laugh...the best medicine.

I love you Hula girl!!

There is no question, you've got to see the humour and the love in the situation. Good luck. Been there and I am there again.

My Granny is a constant source of humor but when we laugh she says "If you don't stop laughing I'm gonna tan your a**" I think she could do it too.
Bless you hula for taking care of your Papa T.

Yes, yes, yes. My in-laws live with me and they're getting along in years. . . they don't have dimentia really, yet, but does demented count?

Or how about just really, really, really loud? My m-in-law is very hard of hearing, and as a result, verrrrrrrrrrrry loud. She shouts everything at the top of her lungs. Sometimes it's so funny it makes me cry. Or is that so sad that it makes me laugh?
