Fun Monday-Favorite Photo

This week's Fun Monday host is aojthelurchers, and she wants to know THIS about us:

Show me your favorite photograph and tell me why it's your favorite. It can be one you've taken yourself or one someone else has taken, a snapshot or a more professional image. Is there a story behind it? Do you love it for the memories it gives or just because it's pleasing to the eye?

Criminy! Just one??!! I'm waaay too indecisive to pick just one. There are so many. I've poured over albums for several days now, trying to narrow it down, and I have to say I can't pick one single picture as my ultimate favorite. I love, love, love many of them. I finally decided to choose one that could qualify as a finalist, but let me tell ya' it hurts to restrain myself on this assignment folks. Here goes....
This is my parents on their wedding day, some 45 years ago. This photo sums up their personalities perfectly. Daddy is the agitator, alway up to mischief. Mama is always rolling her eyes at him and reeling him back in line. For years they've been each other's yin and yang, rolling with the ups and downs of life. I love that they've weathered the ups and downs, that they still love each other very much and still enjoy each other's company. They may bicker every now and then, but they wouldn't know what to do without each other. Oh, and I love that Daddy still picks at Mama, and she still rolls her eyes at him...often. Just for the record, here's what they look like today.Sorry! I couldn't stick to just one.

They have both aged gracefully. Even better looking then their wedding day.

I'm happy that is your favorite photo. It speaks volumes.

Nice pics - I lost both parents last year. Treasure every moment with them. It's unbelievably sad when they are gone.

Glad you didn't just stick to ONE ! (How dare you break Mon Funday rules !) Those two photos speak volumes...they have gracefully aged and I just can't imagine all the stories that lie between the two photos. Smiles and Tears, for sure.

Oh man, I love that you picked your parents. They are a great looking couple. They sound a lot like Bob and I. One of our friends calls us a "mixed species marriage".

Oh...Rules...Schmules!! You couldn't have put the first one without putting the second one!!
I do so love looking at old pictures and seeing how the people have weathered the years....and I will agree with everyone else in saying that your mom and dad...look good!! That twinkle in your dad's eye when they got married must have been contagious, because your mom has it now too!!

That's just too sweet - not only how your parents relate, but that you chose a photo of them on their wedding day as your favorite. What a blessing to have such loved ones!

I'm so glad you included both; it's precious to see them then (along with your commentary) and to see them now? After 45 years? We should all celebrate their wonderful milestone.

Makes me hope one day my kids will be saying much the same about us :).

It must have been so fun for you to sit down with all of your photographs. I don't do that often enough!!! I usually end up in tears as I see, through the photos, how my son has grown up.

Love the follow up pic - and wow the smile and love is still there. Rule who needs them.

Love the expressions on both their faces. You can just tell he's full of mischief and she's saying "Oh, you!" And, in the second picture you can tell they're still great partners. How lucky for them--and for you as their daughter.

Beautiful photos. It's nice to see a wedding photo of a couple that doesn't have them posed facing each other and looking deeply into each other's eyes so that all you end up with is a nice shot of their ears and a lovely bouquet.
