Out of The Mouths of Babes, Specifically Preschoolers

Overheard at activities for children at our church…

During an assembly:
“Tommy, your class is really sitting still and being good listeners.”
“Well, as Miss C. says if your butt’s in the pew the words are few.”

During a performance by Teen Angel dressed as Mary:
“What’s a virgin?”

During a discussion of Adam and Eve after the word “naked” was used:
“My mommy says I can’t pee outside anymore because my penis will get sunburned.”

everyday reader, seldom commentor...just gotta tell you this one. After living in a South American country for 9 years..my son was 14 when we returned to the states. He started high school within 3 weeks of our return. The country where previously we lived was a Catholic country and they celebrated the day of this virgin and that virgin very often..sometimes once a month..and shool was out on that day. Around mid October, my son was ready for a break from school and asked weren't there any holidays to be celebrated any time soon. I told him no and he woefully asked, "Aren't there any virgins in this country?". hahaha..So sweet and innocent and funny! He is now a youth minister. My husband once asked him if there were any virgins left in this town..he said, my lips are sealed..but there are more school holidays here than where I went to high school. Vicky
